my partner gets really bad allergies year-round and adding this as a barrier between the pillow and pillow case really helps.

This is an amazing Australian made product. with many features. The fabric is very breathable, silent and soft providing a comfortable sleep surface. The proven viral barrier protection blocks dust mites. and allergens.
I've got dust mite allergies that have always caused me to wake up sneezing or with a blocked nose. A friend suggested getting an Airley Mattress and Pillow Protector. This has made such a difference to my sleep. I never realised the importance of good mattress protection to my health. We are going to order them for all the beds in the house.
Finally, a mattress protector that is waterproof and hot machine washable that does not sound like a tent. It is so soft and has a very luxe/premium feel.
